Finding Home

At the core of every heart lies a simple, yet profound desire: to belong. We long to find a place where we are fully known, fully loved, and fully accepted. For me, that place is Christ. I belong to Him. While it is clear that salvation primarily happens in the spirit, this reality must break forth and find expression in the soul. We must come to a deep, personal knowledge that we belong to God—not merely as a concept we've been taught or something we've read, but as a conviction that permeates our very being.
What helps me become certain that I am His? How does this fragile heart find rest and solace in Him? It is through faithful and continual communion with Him that this assurance takes root. It doesn’t happen like magic, this deep sense of belonging I'm referring to. It happens as we walk with Him, talk with Him, and worship Him in truth. It happens when we weep into His embrace during our darkest moments, and when life shoves us around, causing us to fall, rise, and stumble again. Yet, even in our weakness, when we turn to Him for help, it gradually dawns on us how deeply He cares, how profoundly He loves. Oh, how much He loves!
The arms of Yeshua are home. They are the place where my soul finds rest, where my heart is truly at peace. Should I ever be enticed and roam away into the muddy patches of sin and indulgence, I know I cannot settle there. The deep yearning from within beckons me—home calls.
My heart may find fleeting pleasure for a moment, but it will never gain true rest while away I am from my Savior’s arms. In His embrace, I find the home I have always sought. It is there, and only there, that my restless heart is stilled, my fragile soul finds strength, and my deepest longing is fulfilled.
